Description

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is responsible for the development and administration of the professional certification program known as the Agile Certified Practitioner or PMI-ACP.  The Credential is designed to objectively assess professional knowledge of Agile concepts and practices.

Course Objectives and Outcomes

  • Develop a working knowledge of Agile principles and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and a bit of XP and determine how and whether they can help to improve your delivery.
  • Understand aspects such as: Develop the understanding of how these adaptive frameworks can be used and scaled to different needs
  • Use a common language: a significant amount of conflict and wasted energy is due to miscommunication. What ‘Agile’ means to one person may not be what it means to another.

Value of the PMI-ACP® 

Getting a PMI-ACP certification is one way of growing as a project management practitioner. It shows employers your level of expertise when it comes to Agile practices.

As more companies embrace Agile approach within their frameworks there is a need for more professionals who are experienced with Agile methodologies and who understand the various frameworks and approaches.

The certification shows that you are experienced in Agile, have the knowledge about Agile techniques and tools, and have the resources to take on any project that’s based on Agile principles.

 

Exam Format

Exam Format

The certification exam has 120 multiple-choice questions, and you have three hours to complete it. It is closed book.

Exam Prerequisites

The exam is not in-class. Each participant who wants to take the exam must submit their application to PMI for approval.

You must submit your application for approval to take the online exam

  • Secondary degree or higher
  • 21 hours of training in Agile
  • 1500 hours Agile experience (does not have to be with a specific framework and most project managers have it)
  • 2000 hours of general project management experience or a PMP or CAPM.
